Thoughts of a First Semester Freshman {3 Random Thoughts}
Anyways though I am coming to the end of my first semester of college and my views of coming into college have completely changed from what they were barely four months ago. So if your a high school senior planning to go to college next year (or even this next semester) here are some things you need to know.
It's not all bad though...your freshman year can also be a year of change. For most people your freshman year of high school is the first time your completely out on your own. It's the first time your standing completely on your own. Your finally making your own decisions. You can abuse this privilege or you can take advantage of it. Freshman year is a good time to figure out what you actually believe not what your parents believe. It's a good time to figure out what kind of church you want to go to instead of just going to one that is the same as the one you grew up in. It's a good time to figure out how you are going to live. Are you going to lead a healthy lifestyle or are you going to just eat and do whatever you want? At this point in your life it is your decision. Freshman year is the easiest time to make these changes because it is a naturally a new beginning.
Another thing I have learned is don't give up alone time for friends. No matter if you an introvert or an extrovert everyone needs at least some alone time. At college there is always something going on. There are always people to hangout with and talk to. From my experience you could easily never have any alone time if you didn't carefully guard that time. No maybe to some of you that sounds absolutely wonderful but trust me you need at least some amount of alone time. For some people that means doing homework on their own, devotions, or watching Netflix. Whatever that means for you please don't give up alone time to hang out with friends. There will be plenty of time to hangout with people. Trust me.
